Chicks on Pasture

Our baby chickens are growing up so fast! Today they moved from the brooder out to the pasture pen. More sunshine and fresh greens at all hours. They are excited for their new adventures!

Spring Chicks

Our chicks for the year have arrived! We’re raising 40 Cornish cross and 10 Red Ranger broilers this season, first come, first served. Please use the contact form to let us know if you are interested in pasture-raised broilers this year or in the future.

Piglets join us

Twelve young pigs were released into their pen out on fresh grass today. They were so excited to be outside and explore that they were still busy long after the sun went down.

May Time is Calf Time

Pasture Improvement

This weekend the denizens of Real Food Ranch headed west. Well, not that far west; We harrowed the far west field and broadcast perennial rye grass, turnips, and chicory. Hopefully the Real Food Ranch cows will be in for a treat this summer!

Happy Easter

Did you know that the date of Easter varies each year? Yes, I know you did, but I’m here to tell you how the date is determined each year.  Easter falls on the first Sunday after the first full moon after the Vernal Equinox. So instead of a calendar date or a particular Sunday in a particular month, Easter uses a mix of the solar year and lunar cycles.  Weird, huh?
